I hate hate hate hunting for system requirements for old browsers.
On the other hand, when someone says, “Hey, can we drop support for…?” part of my job is to be able to say, “Well sure, as long as you don’t mind that doing so means the clients on [operating system] don’t have any supported browsers left to use….”
The problem is twofold: first, these days software companies don’t like posting their system requirements. (Don’t believe me? Try finding them.) Second, once a new version comes out, they like to deny the old version ever existed, which means often the requirements fall off the face of the earth.
To mitigate all this, and save my sanity, I’ve created some system requirements pages. Hopefully I’ll have the time to keep them up to date.
